My husband has always wanted a gun safe; however, they’re always out of our price range. He built an amazing “hope” chest for the foot of our bed. It’s a little taller than a normal one. He put a hinged shelf inside with mounts for smaller guns and a shelf for bullets and the rifles go on the bottom. It is safely secure with a lock on the outside.

It looks like a beautiful hope chest and no one would ever guess they are guns locked in side. It cost about $50.00 instead of the hundreds for a gun safe. (and yes we realize it’s not fire safe though). All our friends want one now too!
