You’ll Need

– 2/3 cup shortening
– 2/3 cup butter
– 1 1/2 cups white sugar
– 2 eggs
– 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
– 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
– 2 teaspoons baking powder
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 2 to 3 cups cereal

How To

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease a cookie sheet.
  2. Cream the sugar with the butter and shortening until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and blend until combined.
  4. Stir in the salt, baking powder and flour.
  5. Stir in the cereal.
  6. Scoop out portions onto a greased cookie sheet. Flatten each cookie slightly.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges and bottoms are light brown.
