Bride and Groom Put On Spectacular Show for Their First Dance

There are so many magical moments at wedding: When the bride makes her way down the aisle, the exchanging of the heartfelt vows that the couple spent hours writing, the maid of honor and best man speeches, the tears the parents wipe away as they dance with their children…

But arguably, one of the best, more heartwarming moments of a wedding is the bride and groom’s first dance. At least in my opinion! I always look forward to it. There’s just something so sweet about the smiles exchanged among the elegant twirls and dips…or in the case of one pair of newlyweds that went viral, the jumps and twists of one amazing choreographed surprise dance.

More and more couples these days are itching to bring in some sort of uniqueness to their weddings. Whether that means having a pie instead of a traditional wedding cake or wearing a pink dress instead of a white one, it’s apparent that people don’t want to have the same wedding as their friend or family member’s.

Now to be fair, surprise dances have been around for a while—we’ve seen our fair share, like this one of another couple and this one involving a bride and her dad.

But this new one is truly something special. Their music choices, their dance moves, their choreography…you can tell this bride and groom really likes to have fun together.

The couple starts out dancing to Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud (ah, a great choice for a first dance song). The groom spins and twirls his new wife among the romantic smoke that comes pouring from a smoke machine nearby. All their guests watch without knowing what’s about to him them.

About two minutes into the song, the beat completely changes. Suddenly we’re back in the 60s with Sam Cooke’s Twistin’ The Night Away. The couple starts, well, literally twisting the night away, with an amazing choreographed dance.

Suddenly it’s the 80s with Michael Jackson’s Beat It next to come on. Right as the song starts, a friend gives the groom a hat, which he holds on his head in the most Michael Jackson-esque way and starts busting out some killer dance moves with his bride to the beat of the new song. The crowd is freaking out as the two mimic a popular dance to this song.

Next comes the ever popular I Like Big Butts by Sir Mix-A-Lot, followed by some do-si-do-ing to the Cotton Eyed Joe, and then some classic Macarena moves.

You’ve got to see how it ends! The grand finale is truly amazing—and so is the whole dance, for that matter. You can tell these two spent the better part of wedding planning practicing their dance moves.
