Her Bloody Trick for Making the Perfect Halloween Treat

She says this recipe came to her in a scary Halloween dream. We think it looks like it’s inspired by the poisoned apple from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Either or both could be true, but one thing’s definitely certain: these “Bloody” Candy Apples are perfect for Halloween! Gemma’s Bigger Bolder Baking shows us how to make a spooky, creepy twist on the fall favorite. Watch how it’s done— and enjoy a little Halloween spirit in the process!

You’ll Need

– 8 apples (Gemma used Gala)
– 8 ounces white chocolate
– 2 cups sugar
– 1/2 cup water
– 1 tablespoon red food dye
– Lollipop sticks or branches (cleaned)

Delightful. The full recipe is over on Gemma’s Bigger Bolder Baking site, so head there to get your printable version. I’m definitely going to make these for Halloween. What about you? Do you think these would work as well with regular or dark chocolate? Are there any variations on the colors we could try?
