7 Beauty Treatments You Can Make from Leftovers

We are constantly thinking of ways to use up all of our leftover food. So what if instead of finding ways to eat the leftovers, we occasionally found ways to use them on our skin? Check out some of these ideas from Planet Green for creating homemade spa treatments with leftover ingredients.

Pumpkin Enzyme Masque

Have any leftover pumpkin puree in a can from the fall season? Try this masque that is intended to fight the dry winter air.

  • 1/4 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 tbsp plain yogurt
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 3 tsp honey
  • Juice of half a lemon

Combine all of these ingredients using either a blender or a wooden spoon. Apply all over face, avoiding the eyes and mouth. Remove with a wash cloth and warm soapy water after 10 minutes.

Cinnamon and Nutmeg Acne Masque

If you have small amounts of cinnamon and nutmeg left, try combining them with honey to form a masque that will reduce the redness of acne and exfoliate.

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp honey

Combine ingredients into a thick paste and apply to face. Leave on for half an hour and rinse off with warm water.
