3 Free Saturday Morning Activities for Kids

Looking for something to do with your kids on the weekends besides play video games and watch TV? Well, Saturdays are covered. Even thrifty parents can make sure they plan educational trips that are suitable for the whole family. Check out some of the free services provided to kids and their parents on Saturday mornings.

  1. Home Depot Kid’s Workshop: every first Saturday of the month from 9am-12pm, Home Depot offers free kids’ workshops for kids ages 5-12. Kids are given a Home Depot apron and a kit that will aid them in building that day’s model. Workshops aim to instill kids with a sense of accomplishment.
  2. Lowe’s Build and Grow Workshop: every second and fourth Saturday from 10-11am, Lowes provides kids with an apron, kit and instruction in their Build and Grow workshop for free. Make sure to register in advance, as Lowes caps each class at 50 participants. These workshops are suggested for grades 1-5.
  3. Lakeshore Learning: every Saturday from 11am-3pm, Lakeshore Learning provides arts and crafts for kids so that parents have the opportunity to shop around for educational supplies. Upcoming projects include a Summer Fruit Basket and a Patriotic Drum.
