2 Ingredient Egg Nog Ice Cream

You can have frozen egg nog soft serve using only two ingredients and no ice cream machine! This ice cream is great in grown up “floats.” Try a scoop of this in a dark lager beer or with a shot of rum on top. Or just enjoy it as is! Growing up, before 20% off coupons at large box appliance stores and home versions of ice cream machines were popular, my family mixed together egg nog and sweetened condensed milk and froze it. The result was a creamy soft serve like confection with all the rich flavor of egg nog. Since brands of egg nog vary in sweetness you may want to use half heavy cream, half sweetened condensed milk, but give your egg nog a taste first and see. You can alter the flavor to your own tastes. You may be tempted to add alcohol or flavoring extracts to this recipe but avoid such temptation! The alcohol will make this too soft and it won’t freeze properly.

2 cup egg nog (must be full fat!)

1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk

(optional, half sweetened condensed milk, half heavy cream)

(optional, fresh nutmeg to garnish)

  1. Mix all of the ingredients together until completely blended in a quart sized plastic or freezer safe container.
  2. Freeze overnight. Scoop and serve immediately. This ice cream is more of a soft serve consistency.
