Easter is right around the corner and I’m once again looking forward to my Easter basket! Yes, I am a grown adult. No, I am not ashamed of my excitement.

Easter, like any other holiday, is a time to cherish loved ones, create memories and enjoy traditions that you look forward to each year. Everyone celebrates differently, of course. But there are certain things that children especially look forward to when the Easter bunny comes to town. And these things don’t have to cost much money to do or prepare.

Here are some cool ideas that we’ve featured on Tip Hero before or that I found on the web. Hopefully they’ll help you create your own frugal fun this year. Enjoy, and Happy Easter!

• Use dyed hard-boiled eggs for the hunt, then use them to make a plethora of recipes in the days to come!

What’s Easter without eggs? It’s incredible what you can do with a cheap dozen, or couple dozen, eggs. Here are some ideas to run with.

• Activities and Experiments with Eggs: here are some untraditional ways that you can have fun with eggs, from crafts to wacky experiments.
• DIY Easter Eggs: here’s an easy method for dyeing your own eggs with food coloring and white vinegar. Here’s a video I found that uses the same method and focuses on teaching kids to DIY:

• Or Use Natural Dyes: this tip was originally intended for clothing, but you could easily use “natural dyes,” like cherries, red cabbage, and coffee grounds, to dye your Easter eggs. Here’s how you apply these dyeing techniques to eggs courtesy of FrugallyMinded:
  

  Simply place the unboiled eggs you want colored (one singular color) in a pan covered with water and a teaspoon of vinegar. Next, you will be adding the natural dye. […]After adding your natural ingredient for coloring, bring the water to a boil, then reduce heat under the pan and allow 15 minutes of simmering time. • How to Boil the Perfect Egg: I’m sure everyone knows how annoying it can be when you’ve messed up boiling a dozen eggs. Not only have you wasted the eggs, but you have to spend money on a whole other dozen (not to mention the time this takes). Try this technique for boiling perfect eggs every time and saving yourself the hassle.
