10 Helpful Uses for Apple Cider Vinegar

Though baking soda and regular white vinegar usually get the praise for being the most helpful and frugal household products, apple cider vinegar is also sort of a miracle substance. Personally, it helped me to get over a horrible cold just last fall when nothing else would work (I was told to gargle with it and swallow twice a day, and I definitely saw an improvement in my symptoms after a day or two). Take a look at some other ways that apple cider vinegar can come to your aid around the house, courtesy of care2:

  • Facial Toner: since apple cider vinegar can help regulate the pH of your skin, you can dilute it with 2 parts water and spread it over your face with a cotton ball. It will act as a toner for your face at night after washing and/or in the morning before you apply moisturizer. The vinegar can also lighten age spots.
  • Remove Stains on Teeth: rub teeth directly with apple cider vinegar to help remove stains.
  • Aftershave: mix equal parts apple cider vinegar and water to make an aftershave blend.
  • Weight-Loss: add 2 tsp of apple cider vinegar to 16 oz. of water and sip throughout the day. This will help with daily weight and pH balance maintenance.
