10 Cheap Ways to Bring the Gym to Your Home

One of the most common money-saving tips out there is to ditch the gym membership. There’s one problem with that though: how to continue exercising without the help of the gym. Here are some tips from Andrew Kardon over at Frugal Dad for bringing the gym to you on the cheap:

  1. Get Thee to Craigslist: when New Year’s resolutions get to be a distant memory for some, expensive and barely used exercise equipment seems to find its way to Craigslist. Make sure you do your research before you buy (check out pictures and model numbers). Andrew says that the going rate for weights on Craigslist is about 50 cents, so head on over and take a look for yourself.
  2. Have a Ball!: an exercise ball is a cheap and easy solution to incredible abs. Use it while you’re watching TV or substitute it in for your desk chair.
  3. Raise the Bar: try installing or hanging a workout bar in one of your doorways.
